About the Artist: Yakari was born in the bush near Kiwirrikurra in Western Australia. She came in wither family in the early 60’s. They lived at Papunya before returning to Kiwirrkurra when the community was built. She is still there with her sister Payu and daughter Sylvia. Her country includes Marrapinti and Naami.
