About the Artist: Turkey was born about 8km east of Haasts Bluff. Turkey’s family had been moving between traditional country between Kintore and Hermansberg mission, where they could collect rations of flour, tea and sugar. After Turkey’s birth they stayed in the area around Haasts Bluff. They moved to Papunya in 1959, shortly after Turkey’s initiation into manhood.
