About the Artist: Born on a hillside east of Kiwirrkurra, Warlimpirringa was one of the small party of Pintupi who made international headlines when they came in from the bush in1984. Until this point, at the age of 25 he had never encountered Europeans and their ways. The group had been following their traditional lifestyle in the country west of Lake Mackay. He started painting three years after moving to Kiwirrkurra. His first eleven paintings were exhibited in Melbourne and were all purchased by The National Gallery of Victoria.
He paints mainly Tingari stories for his country at the sites of Marua, Kanapilya and Wilkinkarra
