About the Artist: Julie is the first of five daughters of the renowned artist Dorothy Napangardi. She lives at Yuendumu with her husband, her son Ezekiel and daughter Jerema. Her country is Mina Mina and Pirlinyanu a water-dreaming site (Ngapa Jukurrpa). She paints graphically minimal and contemporary designs of her country Pirilinyanu, a land of rocky outcrops, deep-water springs and sand hills. Her paintings are expressions of her country, the falling rain, and clouds in the sky, water holes and saltpans.
